Short description of the artwork
Some twenty years ago, Boudewijn got captivated by the stained-glass craft and followed lessons in glass-working techniques at the Academy in Bruges.
This allowed him to hone his skills and experiment in contemporary and innovative ways to present stained-glass works.
For instance the glass works are set against a clean canvas backdrop, thus creating a three-dimensional picture, in which, under varying luminous colours , graphic lines play with shadows in changing patterns. It allows to fully appreciate the art in the glass-work itself and the intrinsic beauty of mouth-blown glass.
This original way of presenting stained glass works obliges the onlooker to examine the art work and not be content with looking through it. |
